As island celebrations go, the 4th of July in Puerto Rico is a low key event. Yes it is an official holiday here, with the majority of islander enjoying time with their families, but not everyone celebrates the day. This year, July the 4th is this Sunday and as such Monday will also be a holiday, so expect the beaches and places like El Yunque Rainforest and beaches around the island to be very busy, all weeekend.
So if you are visiting Puerto Rico over the 4th of July weekend and are looking to celebrate; what can you expect? Well this year there are still limited restrictions due to the on going COVID-19 pandemic but places are open and there have been a few events announced, but so far not as many as previous years.

Fort Buchanan, Guaynabo (July 3)
Dance with the live music from N3 Amigos, the Jukebox, and the great Andy Montanez. Can’t miss the fireworks show, food kiosks, and artisans. $10 per person. Limited spaces. San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino (July 2, 3 & 4)
